Governance
A property has a name, an owner, and a retirement date.
Without those three, the portal collects fields. People stop filling them, and the reports keep using the empty ones.
Naming
Object, meaning, unit. “Status 2” is not a name. A stranger should be able to read the label and know what to type.
Ownership
One team may edit the definition. Everyone else fills the value. Two owners means the definition will fork.
Audit
Properties nobody filled in a year are candidates to hide, then delete. Hiding comes first so a report can break in private.
Retirement is part of the name.A field with no end date stays on the form forever.
